Gun control?

RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNERS NEED TO JUMP IN THE MIX AND TALK SENSIBLE GUN CONTROL. JUST DONT SAY NO MAKE SOME CONSTRUCTIVE SUGGESTIONS.

It isn't about gun control. Did you see where the nutcase killed 5 with a stick and string bow and arrow in a supermarket in Norway? It is about identifying and stopping murderous people. Blaming inanimate objects for the criminal actions of people is just stupid. Banning forks won't solve obesity anymore than banning guns will solve murders.

"Gun control" is just a placebo that makes folks think something is being done. The so called "assault weapons" ban had zero effect on the murder rate in this country. The murder rate is higher in areas with the strictest gun control. The lack of gun control laws has nothing to do with the crime and murder rate in Chicago. The problem is identifying and either treating or locking those with homicidal bents away from the rest of society.

You don't believe me? The last set of FBI stats I saw showed that you were almost twice as likely to be killed by fists/feet than rifles of all types....and the so called "assault rifles" are only a small portion of those rifles. (FBI uniform crime report 2019, 364 killed with rifles, 600 with fists/feet).

So long as we concentrate on the gun we are excusing or at least ignoring the real problem. No gun ever jumped off the table and shot anything on its own. No gun ever forced anyone to go on a homicidal rampage.

After every one of these damned shootings there are people who come forward with information about all the warning signs that were ignored. This Texas shooter was showing all sorts of signs.....cutting himself on the face for crying out loud! Do you want to do something concrete, intervene beforehand.

Oh, one more point.....it was a Law Enforcement officer with a rifle that put an end to that Texas kids rampage, thank God that he did. That one will also be in next years statistics.

So you can continue to talk about controlling forks while wondering why you can't button up your pants.

Bullshit. These images are due to another SW user.

Then please contact your Representative, Senators, and full State delegation in Congress and demand that they restore Federal funding for mental health facilities. This was cut when Reagan was President.

Hindsight is 20/20...smh

LOL

It would be interesting to see how many incidents each represents...for a given person, how man others can he or she kill, per incident, with "fists and feet", v. the gun incidents.

One gun can kill more people far more easily than one pair of hands + one pair of feet.

Everyone's a responsible gun owner, right up until the moment they mistake their daughter for an intruder or accidentally shoot a neighbor they think is roaming the neighborhood with suspicion or puts it to their own head after a particularly difficult week or points it at another on the road or leaves it behind while on vacation or has a moment of passion so strong he takes a like.

How do you think deaths happen?

first offence life in prison no parole never no matter what good things you do when your in there 1or 2 visitors one time only and they should be the closest person or persons to the person that was killed.no break for good time and a large picture of the person he killed on the wall on the other side of the bars.if any judge reduces the sentence that judge should be locked up and serve the rest of it.

I’m a gun owner and I love shooting. Most gun owners I know are for sensible gun reform. There’s nothing wrong with verifying to make sure nut jobs aren’t buying firearms..

@Ozuye502 Closing loopholes..
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Quetzalcoatlus And enforcing the over 13,000 Federal, state, and local gun laws

@sunsporter1649 Yes! absolutely!

a convicted felon can not buy a gun by law.He can steal a gun if he wants to or have somebody buy one and give it to him if the buyer is dumb enough to take the chance.all my guns are locked up and have locks on them except for 1 and that is very close to me and no i have never had to use it and other than target practice never want to use it.if you dont like guns or never want one in my opinion nobody has a right to tell you to go out and buy one. i think it is also true for people that pass a back ground check to buy one or as many as they want to have them.

guns dont kill people---people kill people. when a person is killed by a car(much more often than a gun) why dont we outlaw cars the same for planes boats.most legal gun owners are good people the same as most anti gun people.i dont know how to end the problem but i dont see how gun bans will stop a person from killing if they want to kill
@beaglehunter They won’t. Look at Chicago…
@beaglehunter lol

Again...being able to kill quickly, efficiently, from a distance makes the killing much more impersonal & easy.

Do you really think that, if the guy locked high into the hotel in Las Vegas had had to use knives that he could have killed or wounded as many people?

And how many people couldn't actually kill someone, up close, very personally...? Guns make it seem more like a video game, less real.

There’s no sensible gun control between the NFA the Brady bill and whatever the states have it proves time and time again that it doesn’t matter what laws are passed what restrictions are put in place mass violence will happen by what means they can do it. China had a knife attack that killed 15 people France had a truck attack that killed 85 not to mention the countless bombing attacks that have killed thousands worldwide. I’d rather fight with against a individual with a gun or knife than an explosive device. At least I know my skills will a firearm are better than average

We could start by enforcing the over 13,000 Federal, state, and local gun laws and locking up the perps instead of freeing them on no bond bail
