I Do Not Support Gun Control

I would hate that the government could take away my guns. I have a right to have them.

When you hear about the school shootings, the senseless murders from people that have mental issues. I think that we need to realize that we cannot control everything. I feel badly for all involved the parents, the children, teachers, community, getting killed in schools. That is tragic and sadly becoming a common thing.

I remember when I was a kid, I never heard of any such thing happening. I think our society has made some huge changes that have affect peoples minds, their thought processes and the lack of taking ownership for their behavior.

In a nutshell, people have lost what I was taught as a child, morals, respect have integrity. We respected our elders, teachers, other parents, older siblings, people of authority, etc. We brought up children as a community. Parents, grandparents, teachers, church community and the neighborhood community. Kids were taken care of and we knew we had people that cared about us if our parents were absent.

Now no one wants to get involved because they will probably get more in trouble than if they had stayed out of it. So children are falling through the cracks. They have no one to go to any more. Many teacher want to be "Friends" now and not a person of authority so that does not help.

It takes one good action that you do for a kid to effect their lives forever. You might never know it, but that kid will remember it. I know I had one person do that for me. She changed my belief in something and I remember her to this day. One bad action could harm a child for life as well. It takes one comment from a person to make a kid feel that he does not matter and once that is in him, it will stay for a while unless he learns to dismiss it. Enough of my thoughts.

I read there was signs there that kid needed to be took away and tested. But truly shows how lazy our government truly is. They don't do anything unless something happens. They rather spend hundreds of thousands of tax payers money to feed and cloth this kid in prison for the rest of his life. Then get him the help he needed before this happen

@smileylovesgaming Please remember, we have free speech in this country. Unless he made actionable threats towards people, or did something. Being a right-wing nutjob, owning guns, hating other groups of people are scary actions, but nothing that can be overall acted upon.

@smileylovesgaming Its a horrible predicament to law enforcement. If I make a wild claim like, "I am going to kill you all". Thats not really actionable, I most likely couldn't be arrested for that. Its just not "real" enough.

Now if I post I am going to kill you specifically, and list with what weapon and what time, that could be considered a real threat. Then, of course, you have to find a police officer who would help. Is it a police officer where I live? Or where you live? If its where I live, how do you get one to listen?

I am not saying law enforcement shouldn't have stopped him, its open for debate, just saying there is alot there, its not so cut and dry.

@Pherick even the FBI was giving a heads up. I get it they have over 2000 cases a year. But gee come on. They need to get their act together

@Pherick even the case worker for child support was called over 20 time's over this kid
@smileylovesgaming I think we can go by what we hear from the media but what I am realizing is that there are so many things that we do not know. We are given tidbits of information and we form opinions but something tells me if we had all the information in front of us, we would have different opinions. There are so many organizations involved and many should share information with each other but I do not know if they do.

@LoveYouLoveMe but I get gun control is important and all. Kid's shouldn't be allow to touch a gun at all unless the parent is right there. Gee my kid's are not allowed in my office at all unless I'm there. And my guns and ammo are kept separate.

I guess u could make it harder to get guns and ammo. But it doesn't really do any good if u can go around the block and buy one illegal. Just like drug's. It won't change at all
