U.S. constitution

Given that the US constition apparently upholds the ability & power for a single individual to impose whatever (s)he wishes on virtually anyone anywhere, wouldn't you consider it an immoral, evil document?

Give it time. It is a document designed for self-correcting corruption through checks and balances, but it takes time for those checks and balances to take effect. A lot of what is currently happening is patently un-Constitutional, and not just imo. Cracks in the Congressional idolatry support already are surfacing. Lower courts are throwing up roadblocks. And while the headlines on SCOTUS would lead one to believe blind obedience from the conservative majority, if you read more closely they are very carefully picking apart flaws in the filings -- wrong court, haven't proved standing in the issue, etc. -- it reads more like a "we want a flawless test case" to me. I may be just an optimist, or one who always looks for nuance and context.

@dancingtongue Thanks for your customarily thoughtful response to my deliberately provocative post .🤔

@ffony Thank you for the compliment. Nothing wrong with provocative posts leading to good discussion, as long as the discussion is constructive and not a worn-out trail of name calling, demonizing, and bumper sticker position statements, imho.

Would that it were so - except for the 2or3 deliberately not smiling.

@ffony As long as all those judges agree with your opinion, right?
ffony · M
@sunsporter1649 No, I hope they don't make unanimous decisions, but discuss issues together and decide by majority consensus.

@sunsporter1649 Which is what we currently have in all three branches of the government. I finally agree with you on something.
