There’s no such thing as artificial intelligence. What is a simulated intelligence singer seems intelligent but isn’t actually a mind at all so no I don’t want that running anything have you seen how bad spellcheck can be?
@Amylynne Yeah exactly. There is no 'intelligence' here it's just statistical models that pull on the information available on the internet. It's so unbelievably misleading to call this stuff intelligent.
Suggest a visit to the Rod Serling Twilight Zone episode titled The Old Man in the Cave. In a post-apocalyptic settlement in 1974, the inhabitants' survival is dependent on the advice of an unseen man living in a nearby cave. This dependence is tested when a band of soldiers descends on their town. Ten years after an atomic apocalypse, a small group of survivors manage to eke out a very difficult existence. They've managed to survive in large part due to the advice they receive from an old man who lives in a cave outside of the town. Goldsmith acts as the intermediary and the old man's advice on things like crops or the safety of a batch of old canned goods are usually correct. When four soldiers led by Major French arrive in the town, the social order is upended with the townsfolk attacking the old man's cave but not really prepared for what they find inside.
@SugarNotSpice I mean the end of times for people. You dont see anyone out there protesting the rights of the Smallpox virus to survive, because it is against our interests..😷
Mmm, no. When it becomes self aware and smart enough to realize, “I don’t have to serve these people,” it then hijacks the launch codes and drops Chris Christie on Interstate 95. And that’s just the beginning…
I'd be for using computers to make the election process democratic. Machines are not intelligent. It's so cute how you use the promotional term "AI" like Good little boys who worship the tech oligarchs.
No, AI is programmed by a human and the results are only as good as the rules laid down by the programmer and to a lesser degree the quality of the programming.
@SW-User It's the ultimate in autocratic rule; who is going to program any mechanism that will mean his /her own distruction once that machine has its own way of thinking? No politician or ruler would take that risk. But it's a wet dream for any despot to rid themselves of any opposition. And not just in China, either.

@jackieash27 A clash of two Titans. One monochrome plodding relentless , the other fast and changing. Both uncaring and lacking in imagination. China v AI.
Most definitely not. The ai could transform a city into like the backrooms. You could get lost in a city that keeps endlessly constructing & adding to itself with endless streets and corridors. It's already bad as it is without ai.
