Suggest a visit to the Rod Serling Twilight Zone episode titled The Old Man in the Cave.
In a post-apocalyptic settlement in 1974, the inhabitants' survival is dependent on the advice of an unseen man living in a nearby cave. This dependence is tested when a band of soldiers descends on their town.
Ten years after an atomic apocalypse, a small group of survivors manage to eke out a very difficult existence. They've managed to survive in large part due to the advice they receive from an old man who lives in a cave outside of the town. Goldsmith acts as the intermediary and the old man's advice on things like crops or the safety of a batch of old canned goods are usually correct. When four soldiers led by Major French arrive in the town, the social order is upended with the townsfolk attacking the old man's cave but not really prepared for what they find inside.

@JSul3 Loved a young James Coburn in that.. Of course there is an inherent problem with AI. The algorithm. If its decisions are bias to equality the rich and powerful wont stand for it.. And if it shows bias to the rich and powerful (as many societies do) then the people wont stand for it.. When you think about it, AI will run better once it gets rid of that problem..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Algorithm isn't an inherent problem with AI because algorithms aren't necessary for an AI to have.
When you really think about it, an artificial (meaning fake) intelligence has no chance of running a human world smoothly.
AI can't relate to people, can't truly understand human problems and can only do what it was programmed to do. Even if it seems as though it was made to be capable of learning, that's still fake.

@SugarNotSpice You are right.. So far.. Maybe next week a computer will become self aware. Then the fun starts..😷

@JSul3 Huh?

@whowasthatmaskedman And by fun, you mean bad times?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SugarNotSpice I mean the end of times for people. You dont see anyone out there protesting the rights of the Smallpox virus to survive, because it is against our interests..😷

@SugarNotSpice read about Sophia. An AI robot.
