Israel is an illegal illegitimate country that should not have it's own sovereign existence

Israel was a poorly thought out idea, carved into existence by Britain (in the same way as Pakistan), and unfortunately, it is now a racist, apartheid state, which is a damn shame.

However, it is legal and legitimate.

@SW-User Indeed. It is far from perfect, and in desperate need of improvement, but it has a right to exist.

@SW-User No, not created by a "colonial power". That bit is mistaken.

Although the original suggestion was Britain's, to give the Jews a "home-land", it was in a part of Arabia that Britain had been helping protect itself against Turkish imperialism.

The eventual plan and decision was by the League of Nations though, the precursor to the United Nations; to give the Jews an independent "home" country - not a third-party's colony - but without considering the unfortunate, rightfully-resident Palestinians' feelings. The capital was or became Tel Aviv, and for vital reasons that a recent USA government totally ignored or denied by declaring Jerusalem the capital and moving her embassy there. Though the Israeli government hardly helped: it should have had the sense and moral courage to reject that American decision out of hand, and keep Tel Aviv the capital.

So Israel was never a colonial power (unless you believe the Romans occupied "Israel" not Palestine) but an independent state established by an international majority, to be of her own identity and sovereignty.

@ArishMell I changed colonial power to Britain and I'll leave it at that. I get your point though.

@SW-User Thank you. We'd stopped gaining colonies long by then!

Not by Britain - though originally a British suggestion - but by the League of Nations.
