Until the constitution itself is made to reflect those principles in a clear and concise manner no such political party will have any kind of weight.
And in this two party system such changes are impossible. Notice the democrats abortion issue, that even some conservatives were in favor, the bill was a federal bill. If it would have been passed SCOTUS would have ruled it unconstitutional!
There's no win in such a situation. The constitution must be changed first.
As is, the constitution is being held hostage by a group of five political extremists through the method of interpretation of purposely unclear constitutional amendments.
It's like having criminals in charge of interpretation of the laws. It just a no win situation.
