I Hate Fascism

Let’s take a look at how the Spanish judicial system treats a police officer from the actual fascist era of Spain with 13 counts of torture under his belt, versus a defense lawyer for Catalan leaders.

Spain and the media have been trying to demonize Gonzalo Boye since he started to defend Catalan leaders like Torra, Puigdemont, Comín, and more. By painting him as a criminal and trying to destroy his reputation. Last year he was accused of money laundering, had his home, emails, and phone searched, and was not charged with anything. A few months ago, one of Spain’s most popular media outlets (El Mundo) made an error in translating from Spanish to French, and used it to accuse Boye of fraud. Last week, he had his bank accounts seized by the Spanish government (decision made by National Court) claiming that he had to pay compensation for a crime he was convicted of from 27 years ago that he still defends his innocence for.
Boye declared he was tortured by the police during the first five days following his arrest. Neither ETA nor Revilla accused him of being involved in the kidnapping during the trial; no evidence was presented in court, but a friend’s testimony incriminated him. Boye ended up serving nearly eight years of a fourteen-year sentence.
Now if Spain was the defendant and not the prosecutor in this case, then the statute of limitations would be expired. That is what happens with all of their cases, and that is what happened a few years ago in the same National Court- it claimed that the statute of limitations had expired, and therefore could not strip Billy “el Niño” (a Franco-era police officer with 13 counts of torture on his record) of his medals and pensions.

This is dangerous and serious abuse of judicial powers.

I'm in Barcelona right now. I'm meeting and talking with people who are involved in the Catalan independence movement. Would it be OK to PM you about this topic?
