Hr practices honestly need to be re-evaluated in a bad economy

I'm seeing so many applications getting rejected as overqualified for a role.

Yes, that attitude is way out of date and discriminatory. People don't apply for jobs for the fun of it. If someone has bothered to make an application it should be considered on its own merits.

@SunshineGirl honestly it's better lying on your resume and just making the role seem like it's a progression for you

@plungesponge You shouldn't need to do that though. Enlightened HR departments check that the candidate has minimum qualifications, then redact that part of the CV so the interviewers can't see it.
