What commodities will lead the next commodity bull run and why? And what commodities will be the second and third wave of the bull run?

Lithium, copper, nickel, silver, platinum, tungsten . . could be any metal for which there is no adequate substitute in a high value industrial process and demand consistently exceeds supply.

@SunshineGirl Thanks. I'll have to to some research on which is the closest to running out first. :)

@ElwoodBlues so long term likely not lithium or cobalt?
@KingFeeder Probably not cobalt, because LiFePO4 batteries are already cobalt free and in use. They are more weight for the same energy than cobalt containing Li ion, so cobalt will be used in some laptop & phone applications, but cobalt demand doesn't need to scale up with battery demand.

I don't know if sodium will replace lithium in batteries. But lithium is pretty abundant, even here in the US, so it's a matter of processing it economically and equitably.

Southern California's Salton Sea may be sitting atop a lithium gold mine that, if extracted, could power a staggering 375 million electric vehicle batteries, according to a new report. Dec 7 2023

The massive deposit in Newry was initially discovered in 2021. Near the Sunday River Ski resort, in the small Western Maine town of Newry, lies one of the world's largest deposits of lithium. Jan 11, 2023

According to a new report, the world's largest lithium reserve is nestled along the Oregon-Nevada border in an area known as the McDermitt Caldera. However, mining the area is controversial, as it's a sacred land to many indigenous tribes and a valuable habitat for animals like the sage grouse. Sep 12, 2023
Modern electric motors need rare earth magnet materials such as neodymium and praseodymium. Terbium is used in high efficiency light sources. Tantalum makes small light capacitors. Demand for all four will probably grow.
