Inflation. War. Lack of jobs. No retirement. Global warming. How and why could anyone consider having children in a world like now!?

One can always find the negative. I think the more time we spend away from the “news” and more time with nature and people we know the world seems a much better place.

IMO, global warming is a hoax. Inflation and war is a political problem because of poor leadership. Jobs and retirement are there, but it’s hard work. As they say if it’s easy, it’s not worth doing.
@brian29715 Global warming is not a hoax and I remain perplexed that people think it is. Our Earth is very fragile.

@sunriselover I've thought so too for a long time, so tried to think why they do. I think it's more than just the matter itself but their denial of either climate-change or Man's blame for it, stems from any or all of:

Fear - of the physical events themselves but more especially of possible reductions in, or increasing costs of, profligate luxuries.

Interest - in the commercial or political senses where climate-change reduction could adversely affect it.

Ignorance leading to distrust of anything scientific and a worship of "conspiracy" fantasies - basically, being too idle or unwilling to understand basic science and engineering. And to see the irony of their own use of the Internet and other modern-day benefits and luxuries while decrying anything scientific.

Inability or refusal to think logically. In this case, to see the utter illogicality of thinking that almost all academics, companies and politicians of all nations of so many strongly competing self-interests and dogmas, can create a single huge lie - their accusation hiding behind their word "hoax" - and maintain it so coherently and cohesively for so many years.

Inability or refusal to discuss logically. They believe only their minority view is correct, therefore imagine everyone else is not only wrong but against them; but do not want to talk about it. Perhaps they are frightened of free, open, constructive debate.

They tend to reinforce these by refusing to see physical evidence as signs of something happening to the climate; and by trying to twist their vague grasp of Quaternary geology and meteorology to suit their imagined case. (These studies are intended to show what happened in the past so predict what is most likely to happen if left to Nature, without Man's massive interference. So to see Man's effects from natural ones.)

These points apply to other serious, international matters too, of course; and may encourage the growing attraction of authoritarian nationalist and isolationist ideology developing in many countries.

Like the Flat-Earthists though, the more you push such people to see why and how they are wrong, the harder they cling to their beliefs. No-one likes to be proven wrong, even when the mistake is plainly absurd. If anything the less likely their belief the stronger they bind themselves to it, and to call their critics "liars". Not much different really, from how cults work.

@sunriselover Absolutely right! It is undeniable and frightening!

@ArishMell climate has never been static genius. The man-made part of it is a complete fraud.

Notice how every solution would be to destroy the US and west's economy
@Slade The West is irrelevant. Climate change affects the entire life on the planet, not just human beings.

@sunriselover then stop trying to push schemes to bankrupt them for meaningless solutions to non-existant problems
@Slade and the Antarctic is not melting.

@sunriselover it melts some during their summer. And freees back up in their winter

Stop regurgitating propaganda
