That simply isn't true anymore. If you want a better income, you'll have to train for it, and you'll have to establish a record of working VERY hard, for lots of hours. If you can do that, you WILL move up a bit in the world and earn a better wage...perhaps even a salary. Don't forget that training in a field like electrician, and plumbing, can eventually bring in up to $150 K per year.
