I think we're spending less. We installed solar on the roof in 2022 and we've had some summer months where we generated more electricity than we used. I also drive a plug-in hybrid, so local trips use zero gas.
Here's a recent energy report covering the solar (yellow), the battery in the basement (green) and draw from the grid (gray).

BTW, I think it's cute how conservatives like to give Trump a complete pass on the pandemic economy, yet blame Biden entirely for the inflationary aftermath of the pandemic.

@ElwoodBlues Cute wouldn't be the four-letter word I would use
boudinMan · 61-69, M

@boudinMan Yes. And has very little to do with Biden’s economic policies as was correctly pointed out.
Your subsequent posts just further illustrate your Biden hate.

@windinhishair where's the hate, petey? talk about a snowflake.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@boudinMan Read your own posts. You see hate when I mention Trump as the president prior to Biden and ask what he did to address refrigerants, since you criticized Biden for not doing so. But you won't even acknowledge your own raging, debilitating hatred for Biden as you continually illustrate.

Hard to say. A decent amount. It is also impossible to know how much is actually inflation when here in Canada grocery conglomerates have been caught price fixing bread, and other companies have been caught engaging in "greedflation" or jacking up prices and blaming inflation because they can.

Not much more. If something costs too much, I just don't buy it.
Tetsuya · 51-55, M
between $4K and $5k
NerdyPotato · M
@Tetsuya more than $5k extra? Your increase is quadruple my total budget even now. 🤯
Tetsuya · 51-55, M
@NerdyPotato family of 4 so we go through about S250 a week in food
house payment - a large chunk of the budget
car payments - the wifes 2021 CX-5 is almost paid off, my 2023 Crosstrek should be done around Sept 2025
Utilities - water, electricity, gas, internet, cell phones
Insurance
it all adds up quick
pretty much eats up my whole takehome salary
and my wifes salary goes into the bank

meh, I don't really pay that much attention to tell the truth, but I guess food and gas cost a bit more now.
Spoiledbrat · F
I've changed what I buy and where I buy but I'm still spending a little more
Who knows.. does anyone track their own spending to the dime?
NerdyPotato · M
Compared to when? Maybe 20% more than a year ago.
mindlessdrifter · M
