You know, I've presented the numbers at least three times now and each time the response was the same to the news the economy is doing better: No it's not. I mean, if you can't even celebrate good news when it comes along, why expect good news in the first place, right?

@Notanymore Preparation for me includes growing most of my fruit and vegetables, harvesting firewood sustainably and using a low-emission Norwegian woodstove for most of my heat, using very little fossil fuel, keeping financial resources in multiple areas, and learning as much as possible to do things myself. I'm competent with plumbing, electrical, masonry, roofing, woodworking, etc. so I can do most things myself as issues come up.

@windinhishair that's awesome. We aren't that much different. I've had a hell of a time trying to garden, but I've learned a ton over the years about wild edibles and Eden gardening. I also force myself to learn and practice harvesting fish and game, but my primary focus is always having food handy, either procured or purchased. I also have stockpile caches at random spots and maintain my spot of woods to grow primarily firewood (right now I'm struggling in a fight with sycamores, but have a few available firewood spots with good locust and walnut, which are sustainable.). I do my own maintenance, as that's how I was raised. Always looking for tips and tricks though. Feel free to share.

Interesting. Your 3.4% unemployment is almost the same as Norway. But it's not a 50 year low for us, only a 12 year low. In 1977 it was only 1.5%. In 1977 it was only 2.5%

People returning to work after a “pandemic” (that’s a whole different topic) is NOT growth. They were paid insane amounts of money to sit home and do nothing and now finally after this admin gave out all the money that can’t be printed, they are returning to work. That’s not growth

Never believe the unemployment figures. They are always fudged.
Here in Australia, someone who works only one hour a week is deemed to be fully employed.
So they are not included in the figures.
It is a travesty to say the unemployment figure here in Australia is 3.5%.
More like 10 - 15% if those dastardly politicians were honest. But no such thing as an honest politician.
