The European Economy is about to collapse

Thanks to the west pushing for war in Ukraine the Western European economy is teetering on the edge as the region runs out of energy. No Natural Gas, No oil, No Electricity from Nuclear and definitely not not enough energy from solar and wind. The only question is how far the civil unrest will go before the governments fall.
as they freeze their balls off this winter.

@hippyjoe1955 something triggers it, the thiomersal in vaccines is an organomercury compound. Remember the saying “Mad as a hatter”? The mercury hatters used to tan leather was the reason they went mad. I believe that vax form of mercury irritates the brain and causes an autoimmune reaction. Other things can do it too. But since the increase in the number of vaccinations for children began the incidence of autism has also increased.

If we started producing oil again, we could sell to Europe and pay off our national debt.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Confined we had so much oil stored that we ran out places to put it when Trump was president. Does anyone realize that?
@hippyjoe1955 says
The present Ukrainian government was installed by the CIA.
Oh, I see your confusion!! You've got Russia & Ukraine backwards!!!

The last TWO Ukrainians governments have won popular elections.

Putin, however, was installed by the successor to the KGB and is kept in power by a series of murders via poisoning, defenestration, and explosions.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues you get raided in the US if you disagree with democrats and Joe Biden. This is the most corrupt administration in US history bar none. Sadly you support it which says a lot about your character.
@hippyjoe1955 75 million people voted against Biden. Remind me, how many got raided?? LOL!!!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues You sound like Stalin. "Show me the man and I will show you the crime".

Good thing I have my hat:

hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Nimbus Yes it does a very good job of filtering out reality. So about those three huge steel plants being shuttered and the aluminum plants being shuttered and the lack of electricity and natural gas in Germany.... Any intelligent comments?
I don't think it will collapse.
Rather, I think it will go through an extremely difficult period, at the very least a recession of the magnitude of the Great Depression of 1929-33.
There is a chance of World War III arising out of the Ukrainian situation. If Putin uses a nuclear bomb, I am certain that NATO would retaliate in kind: mutually assured destruction, which would likely mean a nuclear winter of at least two years. Europe and the USA are trying to use every means they can to prevent that possibility. But Putin is serious and pathological enough to not care about the obliteration caused by a nuclear strike.

However, whoever survives would eventually and with great struggle and suffering, rebuild. I'm feel sure that the European countries would want to remain as a union, and would embrace union with any neighbours who wanted to join them.
Given the population and power of countries the size of China, India and the USA, forming a union of states is the only way for Europe to survive.
I imagine one day the ASIAN countries will form a similar block, and so will Africa and South America.

That's if any of us survive global warming.
Abstraction · 61-69, M
I'm a little puzzled why you suggest it's the west's fault that there is war in Ukraine. Didn't Russia start the war by invading Ukraine? Isn't it Russia that cut supplies to Europe? I don't really understand your logic.
I think there are other questions. How far will Russia's economy teeter before someone acts who isn't thrown out of a hospital window?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Abstraction Not sure where your confusion is coming from. The west has been crossing Russian red lines in Ukraine for decades now. What amazed me is how restrained Russia has been at the constant provocation of the west. However the west has degenerated both morally and economically and militarily now so Russia took its opportunity. The west can do nothing about it as it believed its own lies for too long.
@hippyjoe1955
crossing Russian red lines in Ukraine for decades now
Ukraine is a sovereign nation, Has been for decades. Please try to keep up!!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues The present Ukrainian government was installed by the CIA. Do try to keep up. You keep getting lapped.
graphite · 61-69, M
Environmental fanaticism is killing Europe. Either buy oil from Russia or freeze. Nice move, Europe. "Save the planet! How dare you!"
LegendofPeza · 56-60, M
Europe has just earmarked more than $350 billion to subsidize consumers, industry and utility companies. There will be no economic collapse.

'No Electricity from Nuclear' ...... more bullshit from you ;

"As of August 2022 there is a total of 171 nuclear power plant units with an installed electric net capacity of 154,136 MWe in operation in Europe"

https://www.euronuclear.org/glossary/nuclear-power-plants-in-europe/#:~:text=The%20nuclear%20building%20...%20in,%2C%20then%20Belgium%20(50.8%25).
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LegendofPeza You are pushing for nazi/communist economics and we all know how that turned out. Kind of sad how you never learn from history.
LegendofPeza · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 And you always return to the same old tired argument , which has absolutely no relevance to what we have been discussing. It's called distraction , and it's just about the only thing that you are actually well versed in.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LegendofPeza So how are the buggywhip manufacturers doing these days?
@Ozuye502 says
You do realize that it takes more energy tp make 1 solar panel than it will ever produce?

That was briefly true of the industry as a whole in 2010 during a period of rapid growth in solar manufacturing. But it's completely FALSE regarding current solar panel manufacturing. And it's FALSE regarding per panel economics.

"Though the answer is highly variable, in general terms, it takes about 200kWh to create a 100-watt solar panel."

"One hundred watts x 10 hours of direct sunlight per day = 1000 watts of energy per day. 1000 × 365 days per year = 365kWh of energy per year."

assume it costs $0.10 for a kWh of energy. So:
* $.10 x 200kWh = $20 = About $20 in costs to make the panel.
* $.10×365 = $36.50 worth of energy per year
* $36.50 × 25 years = $912.50 in energy production per lifecycle (25-years.)
https://solvoltaics.com/energy-make-solar-panel/

Thus the typical solar panel in a typical installation pays its full energy cost within the first year of use.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@ElwoodBlues how many solar panels are on your home? Better yet, how many on the Capitol Building and the Whitehouse?
@MarineBob I have eighteen panels on the roof, installed this June. And a plugin hybrid in the garage. In the month of July I generated an average of 17.5 kWh/day. It's an east by southeast face with some neighbor's trees in the way, so not optimal.

BTW, paying the energy cost is not the same as paying the dollar cost; that will take about ten years. The next 15 years are pure profit. Unless energy costs continue to rise; then the profit point arrives earlier.

how many on the Capitol Building and the Whitehouse
Places like that can afford to build solar farms out where land is cheaper. As I drive along highways here in the northeast, I see more and more roadside solar installations with hundreds of panels. Congress & the White House are office buildings; they don't really use that much energy.

hippyjoe:
More than 90% of the components in solar systems are recyclable. They are made of three primary materials – glass, silicon, and metal.
Nothing toxic there, BTW.

hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues By then the solar panels will need to be replaced which will create toxic waste because of what is in the panels. I have had numerous people inform me that their investment in solar panels did not pay off. Nice idea but they don't work as imagined.
West pushing for war?

You do realize that it takes more energy tp make 1 solar panel than it will ever produce? The idea is great but the technology isn't efficient yet as far as nuclear power goes i agree.
@Ozuye502 No, it doesn't. Typical numbers: 200kWh to create a 100-watt solar panel. And that panel will typically generate over 350kWh/yr. I have more numbers and links elsewhere under the OP.
Baremine · 70-79, C

I believe it is Russia pushing for war in Ukraine.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@chrisCA Then you believe wrong. The war in Ukraine has been the wet dream of the WEF/US govt for decades. Why do you think the US had bioweapons labs there? Why do you think Biden et al spent so much time and attention on Ukraine as they used it to launder their money.
Confined · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 Remember Bidens son was being paid by the ukrainen energy commission. They got millions and he knows nothing about energy.
This is all bribe money. Biden and fauci have money in those bio labs.
Russia went into ukraine to put a stop to the US money laundering bio labs and several other things. Biden will be screwed once the truth finally comes out.
China is blackmailing biden so he keep blaming trump to distract on what is really going on.
We may even get the truth on Fauci.
No Natural Gas, No oil,
Plenty of North Sea oil & gas production workers will be shocked to learn that these platforms no longer exist!!

hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues Why don't you move to Germany and have a look for yourself. Then get back to me.
@hippyjoe1955 If you had said Europe has a shortage of oil and gas you'd be absolutely correct. But your statement:
No Natural Gas, No oil

is dead wrong. And nobody needs to travel to Germany to realize it.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues If you can't read English. Are you autistic that you have to take every word completely literally.

@JohnOinger Don't pick a fight with the utility company. Seems simple enough.
Remember when Germany were claiming they could run the whole country on solar by 2025?
