I Am Concerned About the Economy

Somebody please explain to me why we're destroying our economy, why we are sheltering in place? According to the CDC 30 -40 MILLION cases of the flu have been reported this year. 400k - 500k have been hospitalized. Approximately 50,000 have died. What in the heck is the difference?

As Rahm Emmanuel said...never let a crisis go to waste. And there are those out there who are trying to seize this opportunity for their own agenda.

It's a balancing act. We need to slow the spread of the disease to prevent an overload to our healthcare system. However, if the economic shutdown lengthy, and the supply chain disruption cannot rebound quickly...the consequences of that could make the pandemic seem like a picnic. Get ready for something a bit like The Walking Dead.
