What historical naval power lets it's navy fall apart?

[media=https://youtu.be/DYkbhf_qxrM]

Depending on the US for all their heavy lifting while corrupt Brit politicians redistribute the cash?

But, but Tex... feeding millions of immigrants costs money!
TexChik · F
@Thinkerbell AND...the UK sits on one of the largest oil reserves in the world in the North Sea, but their politicians will not allow it to be touched, preferring to stick to their imperial control or the worlds oil prices via their partnership with Iran like they have for the last 47 years

Crazy to think that just 200 years ago they were the world power.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
And they are surrounded by water….yikes
sarabee1995 · 31-35, F
Yup. Sad, actually.
PatKirby · M
Probably deliberate so the UK can spend it in addition to more US taxpayer money to support their bloated and wasteful, socialized economy, colleges, and health care.

And they didn't support nato

@MasterLee

And they didn't support nato

Sorry Master Lee, but I need to correct this. Look, there's a lot wrong with NATO, I'll be the first to admit that. But in it's entire history there is only one nation that was attacked and protected by Article 5's mutual defense protections. That was the United States on September 12, 2001.

If you recall, all our forces were forward deployed and our east coast was unprotected. Within hours of the attacks on New York and Washington British jets were in the air screaming across the Atlantic to take up Combat Air Patrol missions up and down our east coast. The next day on September 12th, the Atlantic Council invoked Article 5 and NATO was with us.

The UK was with us and NATO all the way on that day and in the days, weeks, months, and years that followed.

@sarabee1995 The UK as it currently sits is a far cry from the UK 25 years ago. As is the US, in opposite directions. NATO as it exists today is a paper tiger. Europe has walked itself into an immigration and energy crisis and can't maintain a functional military.
sarabee1995 · 31-35, F
@TexChik It appears that the European military is taking shape. Maybe it's late to the party, but it is happening.
