The world owes McArthur an apology

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Wow!!!! I did not KNOW that about MacArthur!!! YOU are VERY well-read!!!
"During World War II, General Douglas MacArthur's focus was on defeating Imperial Japan, but as the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers in Japan, he oversaw the post-war rebuilding. He warned that if the U.S. and its allies failed to secure a foothold for democracy in Asia, communism would inevitably spread, which he reiterated heavily during the subsequent Korean War.
In his famous 1951 Farewell Address to Congress, he strongly warned that losing key strategic regions (such as the Philippines or Japan) would push America's "western frontier back to the coast of California, Oregon and Washington". He believed that communism represented an existential, imperialistic threat to the free world. Because of his aggressive stance on taking the fight directly to Communist China and his refusal to accept a limited war, he was relieved of his command by President Harry S. Truman in April 1951.
I've given you second best comment!

@Barefooter25 Yes. If only he had been ALLOWED to continue. BUT he began to attack Hollywood, where the communists had built a very wealthy and POPUL:AR nest. The American people would not believe that their idols...their celebrities...were tainted with the Communist red tinge. And with ALL that money...McCarthy's end was purchased...and assured.
