This is capitalism

Interesting. I pegged you as traditionally right-wing after the admiring Putin and Orban comments. This is a bit of an improvement.

@IvanKaramazov: You realize Putin has been anti-capitalist in Russia and isn't right-wing, right?
Cierzo · M
@IvanKaramazov: I have not changed in that. Putin is not perfect, his main imperfection is being too liberal in economical matters. I feel closer to Tito or Peron.
I hate to use labels, but as it seems a need, I would say I am conservative in social matters, nationalist, distributist, and very skeptical about democracy.
@Sicarium: Putin is perfectly happy with capitalism when it serves his interests, is willing to abrogate it when it doesn't. But he absolutely qualifies as right-wing. More to the point, I was talking about his supporters, both within and without Russia, which you obviously didn't notice, and not Putin himself.

@IvanKaramazov: You said Putin, not Putin supporters. So, no, you were talking about Putin.

What makes Putin right wing?

@Cierzo: I'm glad to see that you're skeptical about democracy. You know that in a democracy, if two wolves and a sheep are voting on what should be on the menu for dinner, the sheep is out of luck. But in a republic, the sheep is protected by a shepherd, and perhaps a barbed-wire fence and a pack of maremmas.

@TeresaRudolph71: I think democracy may work in a small community where people know each other and they can choose the truly fittest to rule. But not in our huge countries. We have candidates with the seal of approval of corporate and financial powers, usually devoid of ethics and human quality, who will only serve the interests of these elites

@Cierzo: We like to think that there are good candidates for public office, but we are all too often disappointed. But yes, sometimes democracy can work in small communities.
