@Reason10 Why is it that whenever criticism arises against capitalism, the immediate reply goes towards communism? China, is considered a communist nation but the Chinese operate with a high degree of free-market principles. There is a misconception that opposing capitalism equates to advocating for a communist regime where the government controls everything. Advocating for alternatives to capitalism doesn't necessarily mean endorsing communism. There are various models, like democratic socialism, where markets can thrive without sacrificing individual freedoms or private property.

Scandinavian countries, for example, where democratic socialism has been successfully implemented. Despite having robust social safety nets and high taxes, those nations have lower rates of homelessness compared to the USA. It proves you can prioritize social welfare without abandoning market principles. It's possible to mix socialism with a market economy.

Capitalism creates inequalities, and really it's nothing more than a modern feudalist system. It puts the concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a few, akin to feudal lords and peasants. Workers should have a voice and a stake in the companies they work for. Many workers are unaware of the reality resulting from the capitalist system. They don't realize there's a better way than struggling to make ends meet while the fruits of their labor primarily benefit corporate elites.

@Heartlander And where are they coming from? Guatemala has a capitalist economy. Mexico has a capitalist economy. Venezuela is socialist but is struggling economically because of sanctions imposed by capitalists. So what's your point? Most of the immigrants are coming from capitalists economies. In fact, the US is more socialist than many of those countries. They don't get free education and food stamps in most countries in Asia, Africa or South America.

Venzuela is struggling ONLY because of Socialism. Sanctions did NOT empty those grocery shelves and cause people to have to eat their pets to survive.
