One might conclude that Putin might want an "ass clown" as president of his rival country, but Putin is one of the smartest leaders on the world stage and would know that Trump is indisputably deliberate in nature, and Hillary would have been the perfect leader for the USA from a potential enemy's perspective.

That's not exactly clear, as he may want access and influence not necessarily adversarial status. It truly is hard to say what or whom he wants and why, he tends to play the long game, and that is why the investigation is important.@puck61:
