Armed Stow Circle K Clerk Fires Seven Shots After Robbery Crew Rams Gas Station With Stolen Minivan at 3:30 A.M.
An armed Circle K clerk fired seven shots at a robbery crew early Monday after the group rammed a stolen minivan into the front of the gas station multiple times and started toward the store on foot, according to the Stow Police Department.
Officers were dispatched around 3:30 a.m. to a report of a robbery in progress at the Circle K at 750 Steels Corners Road. Police say the suspects arrived in two minivans, both reported stolen out of Cleveland. They used one of the vans to ram the front of the store repeatedly, destroying the glass entryway.
Then multiple suspects got out of the vans and approached the store. The clerk inside was armed. The clerk fired seven shots. The suspects fled.
One suspect ran off on foot and was caught near Steels Corners Road and Wyoga Lake Boulevard in neighboring Cuyahoga Falls. Police identified him as Peirion D. Jackson. He was booked at the Stow City Jail and arraigned in Stow Municipal Court, where Magistrate Clark set his bond at $100,000 cash. He is being held in the Summit County Jail.
Jackson is charged with robbery, a second-degree felony, along with receiving stolen property and vandalism, both fourth-degree felonies. Police say he is currently on parole for robbery and is associated with the Heartless Felons gang.
