Democrats Pull Support From NC House Candidate After Her Idiotic Comments

A campaign built on unseating a longtime Republican incumbent is now unraveling from within its own party.

Shelly Headen, the Democratic candidate vying for North Carolina’s House District 62 seat, has watched her institutional support crumble in a matter of days after old social media posts resurfaced online.

The controversy centers on a collection of posts bearing Headen’s name and photograph, unearthed and published by local news outlets.

Among the most incendiary was a Facebook comment expressing a wish for violence directed at Alabama and Louisiana, with the post disparaging residents of those states in the process.

One, shared on X in the aftermath of Kamala Harris’s 2024 nomination acceptance speech, expressed enthusiasm for the deaths of Trump supporters.

A LinkedIn comment went further still, likening Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler and suggesting the “MAGA cult” carried more destructive potential than the Nazi regime itself.

Investigators combing through Headen’s online history also found a comment arguing that peaceful protest had become obsolete in the United States.

In yet another exchange, this one in a Facebook group, a comment suggested that certain individuals ought to endure sexual assault to grasp what accusers of Trump claimed to have suffered.

Among the material to surface, one image drew particular attention: a photograph from a trip to the Dachau Concentration Camp memorial in Germany, showing Headen posed near the site’s crematorium ovens.

The accompanying caption stated that Trump supporters belonged in that setting.

Confronted with the material, Headen offered an explanation.

She acknowledged writing posts critical of Trump and his base but claimed she had no memory of the precise language in several of them, singling out the comment referencing Alabama and Louisiana as one she could not recall.

In that same conversation, Headen disclosed a detail that added a layer of irony to the unfolding scandal: she had reportedly paid a consulting firm $30,000 specifically to audit her social media history ahead of launching her campaign.

Headen did not stop there.

She likened her current circumstances to the sacrifices endured by Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King Jr., and Abraham Lincoln.
