What is it with all the blocking?

Apparently "some people" can't handle varying view points on a subject.
To me this only seems to happen to me from the lefty snowflakes, does anyone get blocked by the conservative types on here?

Member on here who thinks it is her duty to block as she is absolutely correct and shouldn't have to see anything but adoration for her. She even boasts about it saying she is a VIP so she can see who hearts responses so she can block them too.

@Jackjjacksonjr: Apparently I was too much for WINNER to handle today
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
@Niburu:

Perhaps that makes you the winner lol.
Serenitree · F
@Niburu: oh. Yeah. WINNER blocked me a couple of days ago. All I did was ask him to clarify what he said as I didn't understand what he meant. I done even recall what it was now, but he doesn't like being questioned.

I don't block anyone for their political views. I'm quite sure I've never been blocked for mine. When I block someone it's because I find them offensive. Either rude or insulting. I have also blocked a few who are just plain disgusting.

These are EXACTLY my reasons too why I block people. Not because of politics, gender or whatever but because they are rude or insulting.
im conservative. and i think blocking for wimps
Serenitree · F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I guess I'm a wimp. But

The block button exists, not as a challenge to see how much I can resist blocking them, but to give me the choice to do so if I wish.
Quinton2112 · 26-30, M
I've yet too see it work that way. It seems like the leftists are so caught up in there self righteous worlds that anyone with differing opinions is not fit to associate with.
Niburu · 51-55, M
so it seems we have thin skinned people on both sides and they're not up for debate of any sort

the only person I blocked was the pedo creep Boristheman
maxlaff · 56-60, M
nope its a snowflake thing
they cant handle truth or differing view points
any thing out side the media brainwashing and they just shut it all down

I don't understand that. You're awesome. 😊
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
One can't help them if they want to impose self censorship upon themselves. 🇺🇸
Usually Clinton supporters block.

Some of the "conservatives" just like to hurl curse words and insults. So when you respond in kind they get aghast at the surprising and unprovoked assault upon their delicate little egos. Truthfully it doesn't matter how they identify though, such a person is a hilariously thin-skinned baby.

Blocking is easier than blowing your brains out trying to reason with liberals.
@Serenitree: I'm so sorry he's an idiot. He's considerably nicer to look at than than M. le Donald. 😉

@bijouxbroussard: his latest faux pas was at a town meeting in Quebec. Yes. Quebec is a francophone province, but there is a huge English population there. Whether or not they are bilingual, doesn't matter. He is the PM of Canada. Not the president of a local chapter of Francs'R'Us.
(I made that up. It doesn't exist)

At that meeting he was answering questions. He didn't have a translator there. When an English person asked a question, he answered in French. Not French first, then English. Nobody there to translate his words for the English population. Big mistake. The rest of Canada has a very large English population. Far larger than French. People are not impressed; mostly because, when he has been asked a question in French in other parts of Canada, he answers in French, then he repeats the question in English and answers it in English.

What happened at that meeting in Quebec, was at the very least, favouritism, and at worst, bigotry. His excuse was lame. I can't recall his whole speech about it, but the gist was, "in Quebec we speak French"

@bijouxbroussard:

In 2011, English was the mother tongue of nearly 58% of the population of Canada (or 19.1 million persons), and French was that of nearly 22% (or 7.2 million persons). As for the language most often spoken at home, English was spoken by 66% of the population and French by 21%

I am on the left and have never blocked someone for their opposing views
Bean17 · 51-55, F
Yes, me neither. However, there is a difference in blocking for opposing views and blocking for name calling or verbal abuse.
taintedprincess · 46-50, F
@Bean17: i dont block for that either..
Bean17 · 51-55, F
@Damagedgoods: Well I haven't yet, but I sure reserve the right to..
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
Yes I have been blocked by a dozen Conservatives. On EP it was about thirty. I am not abusive but strident.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Whoever blocked you was extremely thin skinned. You politely advocate your positions and occasionally interject some relevant facts 🇺🇸
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Jackjjacksonjr: I speak nothing but facts ;-). I think some right-wing Americans can't handle a smart-arsed left-wing Brit. I get it actually.
Cierzo · M
All those who have blocked me are liberals. Their loss,not mine.

To say the truth I don't understand all this blocking. Not because of politically reasons. Why can't people respect each others opinion?
Yes, I have blocked a few political "opponents." But not because of their political views but because they were rude, offending and insulting to me.
The other site is this: I also have "political opponents" as a friends here.
Just saying that politics is NO reason for me to block somebody.

Lol both side's are equal in blocking but especially Muricans can't live without that button.
Niburu · 51-55, M
I am now averaging about 1 block a day from both the left and right snowflakes
I've been blocked by several self-identified conservatives since the election, which I consider just as well. But I block racists and misogynists (and did long before the election). It just so happens that most of the people I've encountered online who have called me the "n" word or said something ugly about women also identify as social conservatives. Not all the Republicans I know have been nasty. But I give conservatives a pretty wide berth, especially when they rail about "libtards, SJWs, feminazis or PC". That's a clue to me that we will have little if anything in common. 😐
