Scientist say the earth has now reached the threshold for safe temperature
They say the Earth's future will depend on if we can lower temp and there is things we can do but that all depends. If not we'll have minor extinctions, mass heat, mass cold, glaciers melting. I wouldn't doubt food shortage and famine too since what you can eat is closely tied to the weather. If mass prey and predators go extinct that may leave room for parasites and new forms of life wiping out crops and humans.
You know we're screwed though, we have active climate denialism going on as well as vaccine denialism so we're likely screwed unless we can get diff leadership and act now.
I hate myself for thinking this, but i hope the red states, those who most argue against climate change and refuse to do anything to lower pollution/release of climate changing gases suffer soon and severely.
Shortsighted at best the planet is drifting away from the sun every year by some minuscule amount. Yes excess pollution is bad, obviously; but on the timescale of solar system and cosmos the balance of atmospheric temperature distance from the sun and atmospheric pollution is such that it will continue to balance out.
No worries tariffs on China's filthy industries alone will cut emissions way down. India next. American manufacturing is clean and can get cleaner still.
