A confrontation between two spectators before a Chicago Cubs game has become one of the latest viral moments to ignite a national conversation about patriotism and personal liberty.

Video circulating on social media shows an older man approaching another fan who remained seated during “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Wrigley Field. After appearing to tell the man to “Get up,” the older spectator struck him on the back of the head. Moments later, the seated fan stood up, prompting the older man to say, “Thank you, thank you so much, young man.” The exchange unfolded in front of nearby fans and was captured on video.
