Let me start by saying that no politician is free from using their office for personal gain. No politician, or maybe I should say few politicians have not made bad judgment calls, acted inappropriately or made mistakes, etc. Our form of government and the lack of guardrails in the Constitution almost encourage them to do so.
Regardless, here you go:
1. Predatory lending and old people’s homes
The Clintons laughed at you as they conspired to engage in predatory lending and kick old people out of their homes to make their fortune.
Counterpoint: Clinton-era financial deregulation helped create conditions that later enabled risky lending and the housing crisis, but there’s no evidence of a personal Clinton conspiracy specifically designed to run predatory lending schemes targeting elderly homeowners for their own fortune.
2. Sexual assault allegations and “bimbo eruptions”
The Clintons laughed at you as Bill Clinton allegedly raped and assaulted multiple women in his circle. Hillary laughed as she called them a "bimbo eruption" and fought to have them shamed and discredited.
Counterpoint: Bill Clinton has faced serious allegations of sexual misconduct from multiple women, but none has resulted in a criminal conviction for rape or assault. Inside Clinton-world, the term “bimbo eruptions” was used to describe managing politically damaging stories about women, which is demeaning and ugly, but the existence of allegations plus political damage control is not the same as a court-established pattern of rape or a legally proven campaign to falsely smear victims.
3. Using the presidency to enrich themselves
The Clintons laughed at you as they used the Presidency to enrich themselves, just like every President before and since, save Jimmy Carter.
Counterpoint: The Clintons became very wealthy after leaving office through speeches, books, and consulting, and that raises fair questions about influence and access. But saying “every President” did the same, except Jimmy Carter, is rhetorical overreach.
4. Clinton Foundation and “laundering billions”
The Clintons laughed at you as they laundered billions of dollars through their charity organization.
Counterpoint: The Clinton Foundation has handled large sums of money and faced criticism for conflicts of interest and donor access, but charity watchdogs and investigations have not established that it was a criminal money-laundering operation. “Laundering billions” is a specific legal accusation that goes beyond the available evidence and turns governance and ethics concerns into an unproven criminal narrative.
5. Advisor pedophile, occult, and “child love”
The Clintons laughed at you as one of their closest advisors and confidants was exposed as a possible pedophile and engaging in events that promoted the occult and child love.
Counterpoint: Some Clinton associates had social or professional ties to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, and Bill Clinton flew on his plane several times, which understandably raises suspicion. But the leap to “occult and child love” and secret pedophile events is rooted in debunked conspiracy theories like Pizzagate.
6. Obama birther conspiracy
The Clintons laughed at you when they promoted the conspiracy that Barak Obama was not born in the United States, but instead, Kenya.
Counterpoint: During the 2008 primary, some fringe Clinton supporters pushed rumors about Obama’s background, but the Clinton campaign officially rejected those claims. The sustained birther movement - insisting Obama was born in Kenya - was driven mainly by other figures, most notably Donald Trump, and not by a coordinated Clinton strategy. Obama’s birth in Hawaii is well documented.
7. Loretta Lynch tarmac meeting
The Clintons laughed at you when Bill Clinton secretly met with Loretta Lynch, the Attorney General, to ensure that Hillary wasn't going to be charged for her illegal mail server.
Counterpoint: The tarmac meeting between Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch did happen and was rightly criticized for terrible optics and judgment while an investigation involving Hillary Clinton was ongoing. However, investigations have not produced evidence that they struck a deal to block charges; it’s seen as and I believe it was inappropriate and compromising the appearance of impartiality.
8. Hillary’s private email server
The Clintons laughed at you as they setup an illegal mail server in their home to circumvent the laws that dictate their service must be conducted in public.
Counterpoint: Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server for official business was found by the FBI to be “extremely careless,” and some classified information was mishandled, which is a serious breach of best practices and public trust. But the FBI concluded they did not find evidence of intentional criminal wrongdoing and recommended no charges; saying the server was “set up to circumvent the laws” is an interpretation of motive, not a legal finding established in court.
