The Crazy Deal With Iran
Talking points are beginning to emerge from within the Administration and it looks like the US gained absolutely nothing from this costly war. Actually every American is paying dearly for another Trump folly.
Talking point 1. "Iran will never have a nuclear weapon". Before Trump blew it up there was already an international treaty in effect that guaranteed Iran was not developing nuclear weapons. This was being verified by international inspectors positioned in Iran.
Talking point 2. "President Trump ended fighting on every front". Trump started the fighting to begin with and had to power to stop it all along. And terminating attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon is a win for Iran.
Talking point 3. "The Strait of Hormuz is open again free of charge". The Strait was open and free of charge before Trump started the war. It can also be closed again any time Iran chooses.
Talking point 4. "Iran's rewards comes from its own frozen assets." According to the MOU the "U.S. and regional partners are committing to the creation of a definitive, mutually agreed plan with at least $300 billion for the reconstruction and economic development of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Talking Point 5. "Obama never got a signed document, President Trump did". Trump evidently forgot about the JCPOA signed by Iran, Russia, The UK, France, Germany and the US.
Trump is like the arsonist who put out his own fire and wants a reward and praise for doing so.
