World Breathes Sigh Of Relief As Terrorists Promise To Be Good

Citizens across the globe breathed a collective sigh of relief after learning that the government of Iran has promised to be good from here on out as part of the peace deal negotiated by President Donald Trump.

The announcement came as final details of the deal were released to Congress this week, including a provisional agreement by Iranian heads of state to be cool and stop killing people.

"We have seen the error of our ways and will be super nice from now on," said IRGC commander Amir Arzhang. "You can absolutely trust us with hundreds of billions of dollars. We have completely lost interest in obtaining a nuclear bomb. That's a promise you can count on, just like we promise to stop killing protesters."

"This is a win for the entire globe," Vice President JD Vance told members of the Press. "Iran has been bad for so long. But due to President Trump's shrewd negotiating tactics, he was able to get the leaders of Iran to agree to be good and not be bad anymore. Really, a giant win for everyone."

The global population exhaled a collective sigh of relief upon learning of the condition of the peace deal, and many say they believe this will solve everything once and for all.

"I'm so glad Iran has agreed to be good now," German citizen Marga Von Dutch said. "We can all rest easy at long last. Thank you, President Trump!"

I usually laugh at these but this is the unfortunate truth.

The quote attributed to "IRGC commander Amir Arzhang" stating, "We have seen the error of our ways and will be super nice from now on," originates from The Babylon Bee, a satirical news website, and is not a real statement.

In reality, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is responding to the pending deal (scheduled for formal signing on Friday, June 19, 2026, in Switzerland) with significant skepticism and internal division, rather than contrition:

IRGC's Actual Stance
While the Supreme National Security Council (led by IRGC General Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr) has ratified the deal as a tactical necessity for regime survival, the IRGC leadership maintains a hardline posture. They view the agreement not as a surrender, but as a pause to preserve strategic assets. Key commanders, including Quds Force chief Esmail Qaani, have signaled support for the pragmatic wing of the government to prevent total economic collapse, yet they insist on retaining control over the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s regional proxies.

Conditions and Threats
The IRGC has made it clear that the deal is conditional. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, aligning with IRGC demands, stated that Israel's continued occupation of Lebanon would constitute a breach of the memorandum. The IRGC has threatened to resume mining the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours if Israel does not withdraw or if the US fails to enforce the terms. This "regret-inducing" response capability remains their primary leverage, contradicting the satirical notion of them promising to be "super nice."

Internal Power Dynamics
The deal has exacerbated tensions between hardliners (who view it as capitulation) and pragmatic conservatives within the IRGC who prioritize economic survival. While hardliners protest in Tehran, the IRGC's senior command appears to be consolidating power around a collective leadership model to navigate the post-war landscape, ensuring that any sanctions relief funds are directed toward rebuilding their military and nuclear capabilities rather than solely for economic reconstruction.

@PatKirby I never entered 😊 I live in a country that has clean air and water, free healthcare childcare and education, relatively low inequality, and a robust political system whereby our vote counts 😊
