@Thrust It's been proven scientifically that progressives have higher IQ's than reactionary-conservatives.

I identify as Californian, not American
Pambie · 26-30, F
@independentone You people should declare independence, because you'd no doubt be better off without most of the rest of the country dragging you backward into the 17th century.
@Pambie I completely agree
MAGA means Make Americans Great Again. We have a part of the population of REAL Americans who want to do just that.

Oswald Mosley wrote in 1936 in a pamphlet called "Fascism for the Millions":

Feel free to read the entire thing... he also has a speech called "Britain First", given on the "Britain first rally" of 1939.

Even though, I don't consider the current Trump-administration fascist. It's still the closest we've seen to that kind of governement in a long while in our western-democracies. But right now, it's still radical faux-populism and kelptocracy... which doesn't make it much better then the Fascism it's leaning towards.
@Kwek00 While I agree that the term “fascist” fails to capture the depth and breadth of the Demented Donnie twisted, vile, corrupt, bigoted, misogynistic, and criminality of tRUMP, his family, his misadministration, and his pseudo political movement, I will continue to use it until a more fitting term is coined.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@KunsanVeteran From my perspective... Trump is just a kleptocrat. He's just in it for personal gain for him and his family. He gets supports from other rich and wealthy people that are just in it for themselves, regardless of the damadge or consequences that they create for others. I guess, that's what happens when you put Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman and other thinkers that backed up the neoliberal worldview on a pedestal. Greed is good, self-interest goes over the public interests, empathy and thinking in the terms of "public good" are socialist-evils that need to be uprooted, etc.. Since the late 1970s, this ideal has lingered in the culture, and now you have the apotheosis in a rich charismatic business person... that gets glorified because he's a "businessman" (as if that even says something when it comes to the public good) that gets voted in by people that believe governement should be run as a business.

When governement is run like a business... you also don't need to look up strangely that the CEO pays himself out. Lays off citizens because they aren't cost effecient. Believes that the structure doesn't belong to the poppulus but to himself. ... and all those other traits that comes along with private-ownership over a business. But I don't think that running a governement as a business is a good thing, since the goals are different.

It that coalition of people that are reaping the profits, are also the christian nationalists. Those guys that wrote out Project 2025. There is also a far-right group of xenophobes and pseudo-fascists, like Stephen Miller. There is a segment of traditionalists. You also have the tech-bro's that believe that seem to be radical authoritarian futurists.

Anyway... this entire construction, is not friendly to your liberal-constitution. It's authoritarian and radical. It's borderline revolutionairy. And the common denominator is no longer a hatred towards taxes and big governement... it's just replaced by xenophobia. Xenophobia and the hatred towards the other (very Schmittian concepts) mixed with opportunism is what keeps all of this together for now. I think when we cross that treshold, where Trump openly defies the courts and just grabs power, that the term "fascist" will be more correct. At the moment, it's all done under the guise of legality, something fascists (which are revolutionairies) don't care about.

When this periode ends though... and when the truth comes out about the stuff that is happening with ICE and inside ICE detentions... that this will become a black stain on the already stained American history. Because what ever this is, it will not last forever.
I’ve seen posts like that about all kinds of citizens though. I’ve traveled some and I have to say Americans I met were some of the friendliest people around.

The Self-Indulging take:

of a "REAL" American making America great again.

What the "REAL" American voted for:

... just another day, of REAL Americans saving the western world from degeneracy.
What is your point? Is there one?
Ontheroad · M
MAGA in fact is destroying America... so the joke is on MAGA but the burden and reality is on the American people.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
@Ontheroad Did you go to the no kings protest with your comrades to stop Trump?

@Pambie
No you don't, Pambie! Having nothing else going on in your life is precisely why you're here asking questions about Americans!
Pambie · 26-30, F
@swirlie Umm... are you okay?
Actually yes, I do have other things going on, because I spend the vast majority of my time in the REAL world, not online (which is about 98.5% fake).
swirlie · 31-35, F
@Pambie
Actually, are you okay? You sound like you need psychiatric help to me. Let's not forget that YOU were the one who come on here and made a post berating Americans because you think that you as an Australian, are far above them.

Anyone who spends the vast majority of her time functioning in the REAL world, wouldn't feel the need to come on here to put people down. If your truth were known, it would reveal that you spend the vast majority of your time on your computer participating in conspiracy theory websites. You honestly need to go outside into the REAL world and create a normal life for yourself.

Why did you make this post, Pambie?
