Hezbollah is based in Southern Lebanon and has been waging a low-key war with Israel for years. The IDF incursion into Lebanon is directed at Hezbollah.

Hezbollah doesn't even have the excuse Hamas does of "Israel stole the land" because Hezbollah doesn't claim any land in Israel. They just object to Israel's existence. If Iran orders Hezbollah to disarm and withdraw, then Israel can agree to the ceasefire.

Not mentioning Hezbollah as the reason for the fighting is either ignorant or betrays an agenda.

You almost sound sincere, as if you're not whitewashing, AIPAC style, Netanyahu's crimes.

I find the comments from people from countries with little to no active military amusing. Yes this includes the UK having only 60 ships and of that only half are combat ready....

The UK Royal Navy currently has approximately 60 commissioned vessels in service, including submarines. Facing historic lows in crewed surface combatant availability, a significant portion of the fleet is either undergoing refits, in scheduled support periods, or awaiting upgrades.Tracking and official Ministry of Defence fleet figures highlight the following operational distribution for major surface and subsurface units:Aircraft CarriersHMS Queen Elizabeth: Currently undergoing maintenance/upgrades.HMS Prince of Wales: High readiness; serves as the fleet's flagship.SubmarinesVanguard-class (Ballistic): 4 active (HMS Vanguard, HMS Victorious, HMS Vigilant, HMS Vengeance) operating on continuous at-sea deterrence; rotating through maintenance.Astute-class (Attack): 5 active (HMS Astute, HMS Ambush, HMS Artful, HMS Audacious, HMS Anson), with HMS Agamemnon and HMS Agincourt in various stages of build/trials.Trafalgar-class: 1 remaining (HMS Triumph) slated for imminent retirement.Destroyers (Type 45)Only 2 of the 6 destroyers are typically considered fully operational at any given time due to extensive upgrade programs:HMS Dragon & HMS Duncan: Operational and actively tasked in the Mediterranean and Middle East.HMS Daring: Preparing to return to service following an extended refit.HMS Dauntless, HMS Diamond & HMS Defender: In various planned support and upgrade periods.Frigates (Type 23)Approximately 6 to 9 are considered active or in service, with some undergoing prolonged life-extension refits and others approaching decommissioning. They are intermittently deployed to the Atlantic, Caribbean, and as part of NATO task groups.Patrol Ships & Overseas Forward DeploymentRiver-class: Several vessels are forward-deployed globally to safeguard UK territories and interests, including HMS Forth (Falkland Islands) and HMS Spey/HMS Tamar (Indo-Pacific).Gibraltar Squadron: Two fast patrol boats (HMS Cutlass, HMS Dagger) are permanently stationed in Gibraltar.

sree251 · 41-45, M
@dale74 Please clarify what you are saying. Iraq took a week to occupy Baghdad?

Iran should worry about Iran.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout The US is out of ammo and rumours have it that Iran has some new high tech anti ship missiles and another report says that Iran is about to test a nuke. So about those virgins......

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout We will soon find out. As for informed comment you are at the bottom of the pile. You listen to Faux News and think you know what is going on. I listen to international media from all over the world. I tend to think I have a better idea than you. The simple fact is the US expended a lot of very expensive missiles and did not achieve their goal. The US can not rebuild their stock because they need rare earths that come from China. Sadly for the US China is on Iran's side.

Iran seem to be genuinely disappointed that the US won’t send in troops. After studying US military blunders in Afghanistan and Iraq they’re quite keen to have a crack at it themselves.

@sunsporter1649 You're really sucking down the kool-aid, huh?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@sunsporter1649 You have it exactly backward just as we all knew you would. The small hat terrorists are to blame pure and simple.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 You are going down with Donald Trump.

I'm hopeful overall, because Netanyahu is done for in the upcoming October election. Israel will have no choice but to dramatically scale back its operations after that. I think things will be very different this time next year.

Having said that, Israel needs to stop, now.
