Laws like ID Verification are bad policy proposals to shield children from accessing Pornography because they misunderstand how Children get exposed in the first place,
When I was 14 or so, I was already proficient with Internet relay chat, So I knew about the channels people would share passwords to XXX Paysites on.
Back then you Needed a Credit card and only children had Bank accounts but now you can just buy a Prepaid VISA at any grocery store.
So after awhile I was just paying Crackers to break into these Paysites and share the passwords with me.
So ID verification, why it won't work.
The children are smart and adaptable, those who are interested will learn internet relay chat.
once they understand it they'll just do what I did which is use the user name and password of someone else who's account was cracked to access the content and siterip the porn with some tool like httrack.
ID verification assumes that the children won't go so far to see that stuff as to literally break into someone's account that's already verified, which, if you think that you don't understand how Horny 15 year old boys can get.
They will go to that length.
So all that ID verification results in is Adults get their IDS stolen when Data breaches happen and more accounts get stolen so that children can access the adult content their parents don't want them to see.
I went that far when I was young and I'll bet you teenage boys still are to this day.
