As the USA government begins refunding the illegal tariffs it collected isn't it curious that all of those refunds are going to American companies?

Any company can apply for the refund of illegal tariffs, but only qualified ones will be able to collect. And one of the qualifications is that the company needed to pay one of the illegal tariffs. No country or foreign company (not "residing" inside the USA) paid those tariffs, so none are qualified.

As in the EU, the USA judicial system can make rulings that apply to companies outside their geographic boundaries. Since Google does business in the EU, the EU can direct American companies through rulings. Since Tik Tok did business in the USA before taking on American ownership, it was subject to USA rules imposed by USA courts.

@DeWayfarer That makes no sense... if you review the facts and are able to find the exit to your fantasy. Only American companies are applying for the tariff refund because they are the only ones who have paid the illegal tariffs. That is not what you are saying. What you are saying is not what is happening.

This isn't about reasoning; it's about reporting the facts. I am asking the question to help guide your (critical) thinking. And to be precise, the question is NOT what is happening. It establishes a factual premise and asks, "isn't it curious..." Do better. Your final grade will depend on it.
