Patel Suing The Atlantic

One thing to remember. In America, at least for now, we have freedom of speech and freedom of the press. An outlet has the right to publish articles about public figures even if they are not true as long is there is no malice is intended. (

Malice can be difficult to prove but might be possible in this case if the article is false. However if the Atlantic report was based on truthful information that was provided to them Patel will lose in court.

This case will probably go nowhere.

When he sobers up and realizes his lawsuit will only expand and explode the publicity around his drinking and drunken lifestyle he will regret his emotional outburst legal action. Perhaps Petey Hegseth will take him under his (Nazi) wing to guide him to a less alcoholic showcase.

From what i understand, this move may backfire. Wouldn't discovery be fun...

The Atlantic did use anonymous sources in their article. I suspect if this goes to court those sources will be happy to unannonymous themselves.
