Firing people isn't really likely to help with the midterms so my guess is he'll focus more on cleaning out the "deep state" like ethical professionals and military officers.

He's running out of nutcases and ne'er do wellswho can get Senate Confirmation, so we might also see some more interim appointments and war with his own party in Congress to justify it.

He might fire some more bigwigs, but it seems more likely he'll find enemies from folks like Vance whom he actually can't fire if not just blaming Congress and the Courts.

trump and hegseth are desperate to blame military leaders for the disaster in Iran and hegseth will now run around complaing that the military wasn't sufficiently aggressive or skilled or whatever (did you know there are women in the military!? There's the problem!)

hegseth knows that if he faills to sell this nonsense then trump will turn on him like a rabid dog because trump will not accept even the slightest responsibility for this disaster.

Trump will be made an offer he can't refuse: leave now and escape prosecution (before he totally ruins the republican party) or all of the Epstein files which have anything criminal to do with him will be divulged.

When he starts to slip on the sh_t he put on the ground, eventually he has to try to clean some of it off.
Unfortunately he can't tell what is sh_t and what isn't so he is just going to replace one sh_t with another.
