Trump plans to take Kharg Island when US marines arrive by his 5-day extended deadline.

Taking Kharg Island from the Iranians would be a lot more challenging than defending Taiwan against invasion by China. Xi Jinping will be watching how US Central Command conducts the operation. There is much to learn from Donald Trump.

“For the troops unlucky enough to receive orders to take Kharg, the operation would land somewhere between a suicide mission and a self-imposed hostage crisis.
He figures a large US casualty count and an opportunity to take and hold entire battalions hostages, may well appear more valuable to Tehran than oil revenue. Extra scary part is Trump probably has no plan on what to do if that does happen like that. Cheers!

@Nanoose Several problems with the idea. 1: How to land the troops without getting the landing craft air or sea hit by missiles
2: How to evacuate the wounded
3: How to keep the troops supplied with ammo food etc
4: How to get them off the island when most of them are dead or injured after invading.
