The USS Gerald Ford was obsolete before it even came off the drawing board and the Pentagon knew that, but they had the damn thing built anyway for $1Trillion USD.
The reason it was deemed "obsolete" before construction began was because it could be sunk in a heartbeat from a single ballistic missile shot from a foreign adversary, or even from friendly fire which the US military has been getting quite good at over the years if you've been keeping score!

I think both Air Craft Carriers in the region have been hist by Iran. I hear Iran sank a supply ship as well. The ship was carrying thousands of missiles. 12 years worth of missiles blew up and sank the ship. Fortunately (according to reports) all the crew survived. There is another supply ship heading there but they are going around Africa to avoid the Red Sea which would put them in range of Iranian missiles. The missiles fired were fired by the Houtis ..

I was dubious about the accidental fire claim. Other than an enemy attack the worst threat to a navy ship is fire. All military ships have what is called a deluge system (and other countermeasures) that can quickly and effectively overcome a fire. It happens but it is rare for a small fire to become a big fire on a warship.

Yeah, this is as fishy as the claim that Kuwait "accidentally" shot down 5 F-15s in a week.

Putting about an unsubstantiated claim of sabotage by your own sailors (effectively accusing them of mutiny) is pretty despicable.
