For the class struggling with poverty, the easiest way to get a regular paycheck is to join the official military force.
Iran is not so different.
Most of the people have family member or two in security position.
Can't really trigger full scale civil war between the opposition and the regime because there is large segment of the population who do in fact support the regime.
@Miram And it would need an organised opposition faction with military capability. Or sections within the army, or a population prepared to side with Israel against their own government..None of these conditions were present, or anything class.
By definition, you are correct. Trump has again reinforced that he wont put American troops on the ground in Iran. And without that, as long as there continue to be Iranians, there will not be regime change..😷
@Burnley123 Leave us not forget that a global depression right now is NOT a bad thing for America, with its $40 Trillion foreign debt, T bond dumping and declining $US..😷
The US kicked a hornet's nest without a beesuit. I doubt there's any way of deescalation or any diplomacy against the back drop of killing their supreme leader.
@deadgerbil Indeed. Iran is demanding reparations and sanction relief. They know they have leverage and that Trump is in over his head. There is no way that Trump could agree to that without a humiliating climbdown.
This war will have no real winner. Every party involved will suffer more than they gain. And a lot of others who did not contribute to the conflict or stood as bystanders will also suffer.
The best course is to end the madness.
That’s much easier said than done—more so given the idiotic actions and rhetoric of the tRUMP misadministration. Elect a demented fool; get demented foolish outcomes.
@ArishMell I agree completely. But cant really get my teeth into the subject under a thousand words. Remember I'm not about the politics. Just the economics. And the variable is about making smart economic decisions. Needless to say, this is costing America orders of magnitude more than Iran. And when the dust settles, America will still be effected by threats and attacks at home that stifle the economy..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman Unfortunately the economics and politics all mix together, but what no-one can really predict now is how and when the dust - and soot - will settle.
