I agree with this, I admit I have to pay taxes I don't know how not to legally but I'm glad that others doing it even on a legal grey area. I hope more people do so.

LOL! Good luck with that! There have been a lot if people not paying their taxes over the years because of some cause or another, this is nothing new! But, THEY ALL LOSE! Ending up paying penalties and interest and possibly jail time! So, if you want to be a martyr, go for it! This little military action will be just a footnote in the history books, so if you want to ruin your life over it, that is your choice!

@fanuc2013 Exactly! Thank you very much for your reply. 🙂
Good luck with that. LOL

It won't do her career much good if she does come unstuck over that.

All that being a "competent attorney" may mean is that she can find tax-avoidance loopholes.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@sree251 It will if the IRS wins!

Irrespective of their motives I have no sympathy for tax-evaders, especially any posturing about it. I can understand her motive - objection to her country's war - but that doesn't excuse law-breaking. Especially by a barrister or solicitor.

It won't make the slightest difference to the government's actions, but could make a big difference to her, and one she won't want.

Well, we Americans evaded taxes and drove the British out. I can understand why the monarch had no sympathy for us. Laws are meant to be broken when they serve the government and not the people.

Well, we are sons and daughters of revolutionaries.

Two different things; but if you Americanns didn't want to pay taxes, why did your earliest governments after Independence start forming their own taxes?

Laws are meant to be broken when they serve the government and not the people
.

That's anarchy. As I do, you live in a country whose basis is a government, irrespective of Party and ideology, chosen by the citizens to serve them. We might not like paying taxes, but that does not excuse picking and choosing which laws we will obey or break.

Good luck with that. She will eventually end up paying her taxes. I can't believe you fell for this crap.🤣
