The problem with it, even if the government issues free ID cards to everyone, is that they are gathering information on voters, and the current regime is underhanded enough to use that to figure out who is voting for whom in order to punish them.

They also have absentee or mail in ballots for those who request them.
I went on the Texas secretary of states website and looked it up.
Funny, most of the mail ins that were kicked back in our state were ballots without signatures.
Guess what party the majority of them were?

@Adrift We have solved the voter attendance problem here in Australia. Voting is compulsory. After checking in and receiving the ballot papers you can do what you want with them, but most people vote responsibly. Forced democracy XD ... The GOP would hate it.

@walabby I've advocated for it. I think we'd have a brief time when the polling places were flooded with joke votes, but after that, people would take it seriously.
