I am not sure why anyone would protest voter ID. Here in Alberta there is a petition for drastic change in Canada. Those who sign it must provide valid ID. If a non binding petition has ID requirements why don't elections? BTW here in Canada we do have voter ID laws. Our ballots are also secret so no one can trace who voted for whom.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@Roundandroundwego If you say so. I have no problem with identifying the voter so long as the ballot remains anonymous. I don't want anyone to know how I voted or be otherwise able to extract retribution for the way I voted.

@hippyjoe1955 one day they will just micro chip us as we are born and it will be no id needed . just like we do dogs .. now that was just my thought..

Here in the US we are photo IDed. You look into the camera and your digital photo is taken, down to the last pixel. You get a printout for you drivers' license, passport, whatever, and the NSA harness it for its databank to enable your capture anywhere in the world. Voting stations are typically public buildings. In the last election, I walked into the polling station with a blanket over my head like Jason Bourne. The security guard pulled my blanket off to the laughter of everyone.

this is one of the requirement needed
Proof of Citizenship (such as a birth certificate or passport) to register to vote in federal elections.

myself i took three months to find my birth card.. and here is a odd thought
what about a woman who is married . there last name changes and its different from the birth cert.
thee are people who do not have a passport and i am one of them
this is just making more hoops for people to jump threw and some will just not do it
old people people of back areas where there are no towns, like in the south back hills. . or little towns in Alaska .ect just going down the rabbit hole here
You don’t vote in The US @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow
Not on the ballot. Did you write him in or vote for Harris? @markinkansas

MAGA is dead, it's not going to be the fascist movement to end American democracy.
However, the Republicans can still change the way elections are run, thus helping them to steal elections in the future. This would make it easier for the next fascist movement. That's my big concern now.

Time has changed. We are an oligarchy now. Money is running politics; especially, foreign money. Schnitzel is no longer on the table. Wise up.
BohoBabe · M
@sree251 Schnitzel is still on the table... whatever that means.

The point is, we're still going to have democratic elections going forward. MAGA doesn't have the power to stop that. However, MAGA does still have the power to rig elections.
If the SAVE Act passes, I'll give you some water to wash down those words you're gonna eat. 😂

Trump is a bag of wind - his fraud accusations in 2020 elections were disproven, but he keeps blowing.

That shouldn't be a problem for voters state driver's license identifies you and you can always get your birth certificate to show you or a US citizen if required. It would seem that one would have to have their birth certificate to get an ID.

No problem with that. Trump just doesn't want truckloads of mail-in ballots dumped into ballot boxes.

@sree251
Until Trump for decades mail in ballots wasn't a problem, neither were there truck loads.

Now if Trump hadn't denied covid maybe just maybe the US would have been more prepared for what suddenly came upon.

If Trump had not dismantled what former president Obama put in place giving early warnings of pandemics, the US may have been more prepared and cut off all incoming.

That would not have been a need for the states to request their citizens to do mail-in ballots to keep the spread of covid down.

And if you don't see it or understand it or accept it, that is a shame.

And nowhere has it been proven by Trump or his lawyers that there was the astronomical degree of voter fraud he claimed. And he kept taking it to court through most of 2021.

Having the post office to take down their mail drop boxes.

But liars & thieves generally think and see those around them as liars & thieves.

This is exactly what we voted for. This is totally awesome! Voting is a privilege for citizens not illegal immigrants.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@Musicman illegal immigrants don’t vote.
