I am not sure why anyone would protest voter ID. Here in Alberta there is a petition for drastic change in Canada. Those who sign it must provide valid ID. If a non binding petition has ID requirements why don't elections? BTW here in Canada we do have voter ID laws. Our ballots are also secret so no one can trace who voted for whom.

@hippyjoe1955 The reason Democrats don't want voter ID is because with their new liberal policies they can't win elections honestly. Their cure is letting in all these illegal immigrants while giving them free housing and benefits and social security. In exchange all they have to do is promise to vote Democrat. When your getting free housing, free food, free money, free medical and free schooling for your kids why wouldn't you vote for them. Plus if you move less than 6 months before an election to a different state. You can vote twice. Once in the new state and once in the old state. Of course this is only allowed in Democrat run states.

Who is going through all that trouble to put an idiot in the White House regardless of who wins the vote? No one. The people behind this mother-of-all sham have been rigging it up for generations. This national mania is no different from the real-life cruxifion of Christ in Manila. It keeps dead people alive.

It's complicated. American politics used to be a simple deal when it was formulated at the time when people can count everyone and everything that they can see with their eyes with their fingers. It's gotten a whole lot more complex now.
I'm not really sure what you are trying to say.

@hippyjoe1955 it’s a solution in search of a problem. They are supposed to verify you when you register. The ID proves that the registered person is the one actually voting. But fraud here is easy to catch, and is therefore very rare. For me
It is a red herring and a waste of effort and money.

@trollslayer Canada does voter registration as well. your name must be on the electoral roll to vote and you have to produce ID that matches the name on the roll.

@trollslayer LOL, you mean those 25,000,000 illegal aliens you issued drivers licenses and voter registration cards to were all properly vetted, eh
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@sunsporter1649 again with that lie?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@trollslayer I would love to hear your answer to the question.

@Musicman to what question?

@hippyjoe1955 most countries don't use voter ID and prefer inclusive democracy to the uniparty.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@Roundandroundwego If you say so. I have no problem with identifying the voter so long as the ballot remains anonymous. I don't want anyone to know how I voted or be otherwise able to extract retribution for the way I voted.

@hippyjoe1955 one day they will just micro chip us as we are born and it will be no id needed . just like we do dogs .. now that was just my thought..

Here in the US we are photo IDed. You look into the camera and your digital photo is taken, down to the last pixel. You get a printout for you drivers' license, passport, whatever, and the NSA harness it for its databank to enable your capture anywhere in the world. Voting stations are typically public buildings. In the last election, I walked into the polling station with a blanket over my head like Jason Bourne. The security guard pulled my blanket off to the laughter of everyone.
