Can you think of any politician who wasn’t corrupt?

I have only heard of the positive side of JFK and I don’t remember any scandals other than his brother Teddy’s Chappaquidik (if that is how you spell it) that I read about a few months ago.

Obviously we had Mussolini and then Berlusconi, and countless less than stellar players in between.

Johnson taped everything, so did tricky Dickie. Reagan was shot, I don’t know much about that story. Cigar smoking Bill, the two Bushes and weapons of mass destruction. Obama?

In France, where do we start! Germany 🇩🇪 Willy Brandt? Vaclav Havel? Solidarity in Poland. 🇵🇱 Russia? Oh what a can of worms!

For the record, I was a large supporter of JFK, although fell 3 weeks short of being able to vote for him because you had to be 21 to vote at that time. But he had his flaws as well:

He tended to be a womanizer, as all the Kennedy boys were, following in their father's footsteps. Rumors of dalliances with Marilyn Monroe topped the list.

He continued to support the Bay of Pigs fiasco originally envisioned by President Eisenhower before him, which involved an invasion of Cuba by CIA-backed Cuban refugees. Then failed to provide the air cover they were expecting.

He also continued to support Eisenhower's meddling in Vietnam (although allegedly he intended to end it in his second term).

To appease the labor unions, he ended the Bracero partnership with Mexico that had been highly successful in providing seasonal labor help in the U.S., and our immigration policies have been dysfunctional ever since.

That's off the top of my head.

@dancingtongue That’s policy rather than corruption

@Ximenajacoba Depending upon how you are defining corruption I guess. A policy of interfering with, meddling in, invading other sovereign nations is pretty corrupt to me.

But you do the womanizing, and nepotism of appointing his brother Attorney General. There also are the allegations that he bought the election with his Daddy's money and the corrupt Chicago politicians.
