Billie Eilish Says “This Is Stolen Land” — The Tongva Tribe Responds

The Tongva Tribe has confirmed that Billie Eilish’s reported $10 million Los Angeles home is located on what they describe as their ancestral land, following recent comments made by the singer about living on “stolen land.”

“We appreciate the opportunity to provide clarity regarding the recent comments made by Billie Eilish,” the Tongva Tribe said in a statement.

“As the First People of the greater Los Angeles basin, we do understand that her home is situated on our ancestral land,” the tribe told Daily Mail.

According to the tribe, Eilish has not contacted them directly regarding the property.
“Eilish has not contacted our tribe directly regarding her property,” the statement continued, adding that she is currently living in a mansion built on land taken from the Tongva people.

Following the tribe’s response, a Los Angeles law firm has entered the conversation. Sinai Law Firm announced it is offering to evict Billie Eilish from her Los Angeles home on a pro bono basis on behalf of the Tongva Tribe.
The firm claims that Eilish’s admission that she lives on stolen land gives the tribe a rightful action for possession as the true owner of the property. According to the firm, a 30-day notice has already been written and is ready to be served.

Billie Eilish, whose net worth is estimated at $70 million, has reportedly given $0.00 to the Tongva Tribe the original inhabitants of the land she has referred to as “stolen.” where her home sits on.

Did Billie Eilish say “This Is Stolen Land”, did she say "No one is illegal on stolen land," The quotes are usually important. Because I'm sure Sinai law, a one-man operation, is aware of nuisance lawsuits, but if the guy is a Trump supporter, he can get the US Attorney for that part of California to help him, once he's actually legally allowed to be the US Attorney for that part of Southern California.

It be a real shame if her multi million dollar mansion, which is sitting on top of the Tongva Tribe's ancestoral site, also included a burial ground. To the vast majority of Native American tribes, sacred land is sacred land.

@Barefooter25 it would also be poetic and an interesting plot twist if an older ancestral rival tribe steps forward to claim original ownership claiming they had it before the Tongva 😂

@Theyitis Because all land is "stolen land." That just how humanity was for most of history. And even if America wasn't stolen land, that wouldn't mean what ICE is doing is ok.

@BohoBabe Just playing devil’s advocate, if all land is stolen land, then isn’t that kind of the same thing as “no land is stolen land”? It almost seems to justify any group of people’s efforts to use force to claim a piece of land as theirs. It makes it seem like might is right. All land is stolen, so what’s wrong with me stealing this land and claiming it as mine?

@Theyitis Well we can still accept that something is wrong and shouldn't continue, while accepting that the past needs to be judged in historic context. It's ok to celebrate George Washington, even though he own slaves, because we recognize that he was a product of his time. But it wouldn't be acceptable to celebrate someone who owns slaves today.
