My experience at a firing range says that you focus on aiming at the target when shooting and not on anything else. It takes time to align the sight with the target. so expect some time gap between the decision to shoot and pulling the trigger.
I haven't seen any of the videos but hitting a target requires aiming, if the target was moving even more time. Also the type weapons, whether single or double action affects the time needed to fire an accurate shot. whatever the time needed the shooter wasn't looking at the target's hands.
@Heartlander Alex is shot by agents standing right on top of him…three feet from gun to body. There’s no need for aiming, at that range you can’t miss. For a range comparison, when I’m there and the target is at 1 yard, it takes up the majority of my window.
The only leeway I can give is if the agent that disarmed him either didn’t communicate that or didn’t communicate it clearly, in which case the fault still lands at ICE’s feet.
I'm not surprised at all. As the old saying goes, "every accusation is a confession." When Republicans talk about how the Democrats want to disarm the population so they can create a dictatorship, that's actually what Republicans want to do. This is one of the big differences between Liberals and Leftists. Leftists are pro-gun because we know how this works.
It's not really surprising. The NRA is singularly interested and focused on selling more guns any way, any time, and to anyone. They don't discriminate between hunters, mass killers, school shooters, general murderers, or peaceful protesters. The maga nuts don't really believe in the 2nd Amendment; they don't even know what it says or what it means.
In the same way the NRA is intense about its focus on selling guns, "the base" is just as intense on any way for them to feel like they are "owning the libs." If they thought they could get that intoxicating feeling by supporting windmills, they would jump on that bandwagon in a New York minute... and not only on 5th Avenue.
What is most surprising is that the cry, "they are coming for your guns" would turn out never to have been from Obama or Biden, but instead the fat slob and pedophile, Cry-Baby-trump and his cronies, Kash Patel, Scott Bessant, Kristi Noem, and Stephen Miller.
@Elessar I would think the left becoming gun enthusiasts would be a right wing dream…far less absurd gun laws to overcome with only more reasonable laws left in place. But I suppose that assumes reasonable minds rather than MAGA minds 🤷♂
@Zaphod42 Right-wing gun owners are constantly fetishizing their guns; liberals and leftists typically don't. This alone creates noise that may give everyone the not-necessarily-true impression that the right owns the most guns, only because they do so loudly
@Elessar I’ve always found making a thing the core of your identity an odd thing. Back when I was a pot smoker, I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t who I was. When I was a teen street racer, I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t the totality of my existence. And now as a gun owner, I like my time at the range, but it isn’t the core of my being. These people who wouldn’t know who they are without a weapon close at hand seem weird to me. But, at the same time I’ve learned a great deal about safe gun ownership from them too 🤷♂
