If Trump *does* get impeached & removed, what happens next..? “FACTUAL HYPOTHESIS”

If the hypothetical *does* happen. Trump gets impeached, removed from office… what happens to the rest of his presidency??

Factually… what happens? Does J.D. Vance take over as the president for the rest of his term? Like that’s 3 years…

Or, do they hold an emergency early election before this?

I’m thinking similar to when Nixon left office. But then again he resigned early and it wasn’t the same as now… 1/4 years of a term… would they be able to hold the election? Or would J.D. be the President in this scenario

Also: this is just about the facts. I’m not interested in the “it’s not going to happen” conversation - I’m just curious about the “what if” context.

The constitution has a clear order of succession, but the only president to have resigned in disgrace had the luxury of having appointed a vice president, when his vice-president, elected with him resigned in disgrace, so that appointed VP became president and appointed a new vp. The framers of our country never anticipated that any one would act in such a way as to put us into the situation we are in. the every 4 year presidential election worked great until now. If we were a parliamentary government, there could be a vote of no confidence forcing a presidential election, but to grant stability the founders decided against that.
