I honestly think democratic states should start thinking of ways to run their states more independently

There has to be a way to raise independent money away from federal govt so they can't have an unhinged president withhold funds to children and just decide who gets treated for cancer and who stays or goes. Or if states decide collectively that they are against vaccines and their children get the plague or tuberculosis.

I don't know exact numbers but I hear that California especially carries much of red states income and all that. If you think about it, it's highly unfair for this reason.

Red states complain so much about welfare, caring for the poor, immigrants etc that I kinda think that more affluent states should be able to take their resources and innovation in ways that shouldn't benefit the US govt nor red states.

It's just well the president has too much power and states would do well to guard their money closely and think of ways to be more independent so their incest breatheran can get what they want, alone and away from anyone not supporting unfettered and unchecked capitalism.

For me, that way we all get what we want. Red states can do away with all that nasty human rights business they seem to despise so much.

It's complicated. The West Coast states formed a wall, that Pacific Northwest states are "joining", that's a safeguarding us from Trump's authoritarian regime, but we still have to contribute to contribute the biggest chunk of our income to federal taxes.

Yes, I sure can't disagree with you. They need to grow a pair very quickly. Overnight would be best. And protecting and expanding states rights is a lot more realistic.
I know I was just fantasizing LOL.. it would throw me to no end to see those people put on an airplane bound with a one-way ticket out of this country. 😁

@Elisbch I would agree otherwise because it makes sense to just elect new people in. But it doesn't change the underlying issue of the federal govt threatening states that if anything the current president doesn't like, they will withhold funding for this or just screw states if they don't do that.

It's basically blackmail and so we elect a good president next time but what happens after them? Then the same thing can happen regardless of political party.

States should have more control so they're essentially not being blackmailed.

Trump has raided food pantries and burned perfectly good food, stopped meat from being delivered and also stopped child care payments to states. So all that means is that it's too easy for the federal govt to take states hostage.

@SatanBurger

I can't disagree with you. You're absolutely right about the states having more control. This will definitely make some states more desirable to live in than others. The poor states are really going to struggle many of those states are red. If they want to stay red and they shouldn't get additional help. Somehow the underlying current in this country needs to be severely adjusted.

I've always been a big believer in states' rights. The more decentralized a country it is, the harder it is for a government to have totalitarian control.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@BohoBabe I'm beginning to be too, more and more I'm thinking it just makes sense because certain states are carrying other states and then I'm realizing that maga talks so much crap about liberal states that i kinda am like why are certain states made to carry others and stuff. They could at this point just be independent.
BohoBabe · M
@SatanBurger We do need a better system when it comes to funding. Maybe we can change it so each states gets the amount of federal funding that they put in, that way blue states aren't subsidizing red states. People need to be punished for voting against their own interests.

California is the 6th largest economy in the world. They could take care of the needs of every one of their citizens if the federal gov't didn't take all their money and distribute to poor the red states.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@MoveAlong That's what I'm saying, California could be its own country, shouldn't have to carry everyone else

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I think something like that will happen in the future if the United States continually wants to be isolationist. In fact they've given other countries every reason to make moves already so that relationship is already damaged. Trump is now saying he wants to go after Cuba and other countries gonna start getting paranoid
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Oh for some reason I still have Venezuela on the brain haha. Nah what you say makes sense and I've often thought the same, why can't states just join up with Canada and the like. I don't see why the United states should be like this any longer. Our constitution is outdated and the ones in there that do matter don't anymore. People just don't care enough and i mean 🤷 there's really no use for the US anymore. It's so unequal in every way, California would do well with Canada for their economy
@SatanBurger Venezuela is definitely on my mind too. An unprovoked attack and kidnapping of a sitting president announced on social media of all things.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I'm down for a secession. Oregon, Washington, and California should just break away. The other blue states are welcome to join us if they want.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@LordShadowfire Actually it would be great if the Southern states left again and took Texas with them.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@MoveAlong Texas doesn't even have to join them. All they have to do is go away.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@LordShadowfire Me too, getting to that point myself
ron122 · 41-45, M
Yeah, so democrat states can commit more fraud.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I've already determined that maga are basically masochistic. They vote for billionaires they have nothing in common with and I feel like they would self flagellate themselves if trump told them too.
Balkanize y'all selves! No hope for the nation. Chop it up! It's the best you can do - without a US left in politics!:
It's only going to get Worse. Only. Ever.
