@sunsporter1649 In many cases, other robots. Or such is the goal. Thing is, if you create five jobs and remove fifteen, you are a net job destroyer. It may be more efficient in capital and manpower, but robotics and automation is pushing us into a new era where the technology performs the jobs it creates instead of making new ones. It's no longer business as usual.

@ViciDraco I have to disagree, my hubby works in automation and it is a whole industry in itself! Just in his shop, there is a whole building full of engineers and designers, machinists, welders and fabricators to make the parts, toolmakers and machine builders to assemble and electricians to wire them, pipefitters to fabricate the hydraulic and lubrication lines. Then there are the people that operate the heat treatment furnaces, procurement people to line up materials and management people to organize everything! And don't forget the truck drivers that make sure everything is delivered ! I'm sure I'm.forgetting some people.

@fanuc2013 BINGO... I'm invested in robotics company that has over 1000 employees! In the grand scheme of things that's not a big number but it's just one company.
Most people in here are clueless about how economies work, never mind the labor market... just clueless!
