@SatanBurger I think it's sunk cost fallacy. These people have spent so much of their lives convinced that reality is one way, and they feel like it's all been a waste if they admit that it's not.

@LordShadowfire There's a video about why you can't talk to Trump supporters. The video was about how compassion and empathy breeds change more so than debate but that's hard to do sometimes. Particularly with people who are celebrating kids not receiving medical care due to them being immigrants.

Anyways she goes on to say about a psychological theory that is basically tied to identity. If they admit what Trump is doing is wrong, they would have to admit they are wrong. So basically loss of identity.

They can't criticize as it's a personal attack against them, a criticism of Trump is a direct attack on them is how they feel.

@SatanBurger This sounds very similar to a video by DarkMatter2525 about why people consider criticism of Christianity to be a personal attack on their person. He concludes that because they have this image of Jesus in their heads that they talk to, criticizing him is by extension criticizing them. I wonder if it's the same thing with the Trump cult.

@LordShadowfire Well from what I've seen, people do have altars to Trump in their homes, some of his most die hards fans are like that so I'm thinking it's very similar

@LordShadowfire The Trump Cult has definitely made Trump part of who they are, which is why it's so hard to stop supporting him. To a lot of these simps, it really is like accepting that there's probably no god.
