I don’t love either. Anyway, great list. Here are some minor corrections. Beginning in 1918 the RSFSR attempted to strangle the newly independent Baltic states in their cradle. Subsequently, Azerbaijan was attacked in 1920, followed by Armenia in the same year, and the takeover of the South Caucasus was completed with the invasion of Georgia in 1921. Farther to the East, Russia invaded Mongolia in the same year.
In 1940, the USSR(Russia) not only invaded the Baltic states but Romania to occupy and annex Bessarabia and the Bukovina region.
I‘d also add the Soviet invasion of northern Iran in 1941 since the Soviet Union, unlike Britain and the US, tried to stay and continue the occupation until after the war despite pre-existing agreements.

@CedricH How many military bases does Russia have around the world ?
How many military bases does America have around the world ?

@ididntknow Perhaps Russia ought to cultivate a few more mutually benificial alliances. That, however, would require a different conduct in international affairs.
Besides, the entire rhetorical question is childish. Foreign military bases are neither intrinsically good nor bad, it depends on how they‘re being used.
